Chaga mushroom (Inonotus obliquus) is a medicinal mushroom that grows on birch trees in the temperate regions of the Earth. Used for thousands of years by indigenous tribes in Europe, Asia and the Americas, chaga is revered for being one of the most adaptogenic substances on Earth. Chaga is well-regarded in Scandinavia, Russia, China, Japan, Canada and other regions as a health tonic to assist the body’s natural capacity to resist stress. Chaga grows wild in birch forests in these regions and is easy to come by. Unfortunately, it is not so easy to access in Australia, which is why we love working with this extracted form of chaga. With its immune-boosting beta glucans, adaptogenic betulinic acid, crazy-high amount of antioxidants (SODs) and skin protecting melanin content (more than any other food), chaga is a true anti-ageing medicinal mushroom and an immune powerhouse.
Our wildcrafted chaga is harvested from it’s natural home in China’s Changbai mountains. This pristine area produces some of the most potent chaga in the world, free of the radiation that affects chaga grown in the North American region.
