Perth Bonus

The weather is heating up and outdoor events are in full swing. Hillary’s Wellness Festival was fantastic a few weeks ago and we really enjoyed catching up with everyone that came down.

Leederville Carnival is a fantastic annual event that the whole family can get involved in. This year they have gone all out with a particular focus on health, which we are so happy about, we are going to be joining in the line up along the dedicated Coffee Lovers Lane on Carr Pl (behind Duende)

The Leederville Carnival recognises and seeks to incorporate and promote foods that contribute to a balanced, healthy diet. With over 80 local Leederville food businesses and external food carts brought in for the day, in addition to all the local food businesses and restaurants in the area, food is a big element of the carnival and selections are chosen carefully. However, the carnival goes deeper than simply ‘being healthy’ and recognises the rapid rise in food intolerances within our community (in particular peanuts, dairy and wheat) and seeks to give preference and focus on foods that provide a balanced diet, giving people alternatives such as gluten free, wheat free, dairy free, sugar free foods, incorporating vegetarian, vegan and other food elements that cater to a healthy, balanced diet that is pro-choice.
