No, giving kids Bulletproof Coffee is not a good idea but there are many ways to promote optimal performance and health and wellness for your whole family. Today we are sharing 3 of our family favourites.
1) Lunchbox Bites
Keeping your kids fueled up and bellies full is a full-time job and making sure it’s done with their health and wellbeing in mind is certainly an ongoing challenge.
We discovered these amazing “bliss balls” around 18 months ago and the kids loved them. We adapted the recipe to remove nuts due to a classmate allergy and they just got better!
Super easy and fun to make, they not only taste great but are incredible nutrient dense, with healthy fats for energy, protein to support growth and recovery, and antioxidants.
These are not just for kids, it’s common place to make the whole 30 balls and find only 23 actually make it into the fridge when we’re done.
2) Feed Your Body and Mind Smoothie
Another crowd favourite, especially on busy school mornings is the amazingly healthy and filling adaptation of the protein smoothie.
Not only will the kids slurp out the last bit from the cup, its great pre and post workout for us grown-ups too.
3) Family Sleep Formula
Both of our kids (currently 4 1/2 and 3) have been great sleepers. Around 6 months ago they began waking during the night upset with what seemed like bad dreams. This was starting to affect their moods during the day (not to mention mummy and daddy’s..) After looking into sleep hacks for myself (keep your eye out for more on this soon) I stumbled onto a great combo of ingredients that provides your body with fuel specifically for the functions that are most active while you sleep – your brain while forming memories and your liver for detoxing you from our busy days. We tried this on our kids (who call it a “Honey Special Treat”) and they are back to sleeping through every night and seem to be more rested each morning.
For those of you in Perth 24th November 2014, we will be sharing more information, recipes, and of course products at the Kids Health and Wellness evening with Dr. Peter Dingle from 6pm.
